ECCTC is Born

ECCTC! Just what does this mean? ECCTC stands for The Elizabethton/Carter County Technology Consortium. This group will use technology to better the citizens and businesses of our region.

Before ECCTC, government and utility entitles in the area dealt with most of their technology issues independently. This is fine for specific hardware and software needs to accomplish their unique missions. However, these same entities have common goals as well. The most important of these common goals is that generation of industry, business and job growth.

The creation of ECCTC will help streamline all these various entities into a much more powerful force that can achieve real results.

The Elizabethton/Carter County Technology Consortium consists of The City of Elizabethton, Carter County, Elizabethton Electric, The Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce, The Elizabethton/Carter County Tourism Council, and Star Technology Group (The Elizabethton Star).

This consortium meets bi-annually to look for ways to use technology to promote our region. The first task of this consortium is currently underway. The web sites of all members are currently receiving enhancements making it easier for users to acquire information about our area. Many new and exciting plans are on the horizon so check back often for the latest news.
